The IC-M423G Fixed Mount VHF/DSC by Icom is their next generation VHF/DSC with a brand new interface for easy to use operation and enhanced version of the IC-M423. What makes the IC-M423G different is the new backlight LCD which matches modern leisure boat design, the built-in GPS receiver shows your current position and time and can be used for DSC calls and HM-205B/SW high grade speaker-microphone which has channel Up/Down, channel 16/call channel and transmit power (Hi/Low) buttons and a large 45mm diameter speaker. The simple interface boasts a rotary selector and directional keypad which provide intuitive operation and the high definition dot matrix display allows all information to be clearly viewed. Featuring Active Noise Cancelling technology, the IC-M423G reduces background noise to up to 90% and improves both your transmitted voice and incoming calls thanks to its bidirectional active noise canceller, allowing you to be heard loud and clear even in poor weather conditions or if the engines are running. The built-in 10W amplifier increases the audio output from an additional external speaker, also make announcements from the microphone like a loud speaker with the public address function. With the latest Class D DSC specifications, you can monitor Ch. 70 (DSC channel) activity, even while you are receiving another channel. Other DSC functions include distress, individual, group, all ships, urgency, safety and more upon request. Your current position and time are shown on display when the IC-M423G is connected to an external GPS receiver, also when receiving position data from another vessel the IC-M423G can transfer it to a navigational device via an NMEA 0183 connection. When connected to the optional MA-500TR Class B AIS transponder, the AIS target call function will allow you to set up an individual DSC call without having to manually input an MMSI number. Other features include priority and normal scan, AquaQuake draining function, dual/tri-watch function and built-in attenuator for local communication.
